About the Owners

Howdy and welcome to the Nook! We are Staci (mom), Elijah, Isabella and Robert – the proud new owners of Hidden Shady Nook. The reason we picked Pike Lake as our new business and home was because it holds a certain charm, a sense of peace, and a return to simplicity that we value very much as a family. Our favorite things to do together are spend days out on the boat, in the water and around the campfire. We love to play board games and cards, read books, and explore nature. Ask Isabella about when she lost her croc in the bog! That’s a fun story…
Our goal for families visiting the Nook is simple: create lasting memories. If we can help in any way make your stay more comfortable while on property, don’t hesistate to ask. Mi casa, su casa – we are so glad you’re here.
Oh the stories the Nook could tell
Shady Nook through the years….

1800s
The First Shady Nook
In this painting, which is hanging in the restaurant, you can see that Shady Nook originally had a white steamboat on the water of the dock. If you bring your snorkle you just might be able to see remnants of it deep in the waters off the shore where it apprently sank over one hundred years ago. The original restaurant actually jutted out over the water and was a local favorite.

1940s – 1960s
Shady Nook Continues
This Shady Nook resort was what the property evolved to between the 1940s – 1960s. You can also find this painting on the restaurant wall. At this time Shady Nook was primarily a bar and a resort with six white cabins along the water for families to come and visit. Boaters would travel miles around to enjoy a drink at the Nook.

The Current Restaurant
Build in 1965
The current beautiful restaurant and bar that is part of Shady Nook dates back to 1965 when it was first build on Pike Lake shores. If you go underneath the deck, near the showerhouses, you can actually see two small box windows where they used to pass drinks out from the bar when the building was originally built. They didn’t finish the gorgeous bar on the main level until years later.

Shady Nook has the BEST food. Their salad bar is too die for. Location is perfect out on the lake. They always take care of their patrons. A must stop every time I come to Wisconsin.

Went here for a party and get together and had the buffet meal there was a great selection of food and all of it was high quality! The dining room where the buffet is has plenty of room to accommodate large groups.
